In the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department, esophagus, stomach, duodenum, small intestine, colon and anus diseases are diagnosed and treated. Also, glad bladder and tract diseases are covered. The second major diseases covered by the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department are liver diseases. This department deals with diagnosis and treatment of diseases of these organs such as ulcer, gastritis, jaundice, hepatitis, cirrhosis, spastic colon, gallbladder stones and inflammation, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, constipation, diarrhea, rectal and oral bleeding, hemorrhoids, digestive system cancers. In brief, digestive system organs and diagnosis and treatment of the diseases related with them are included in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Digestive system health is important for the whole body. Poor functioning of digestive system leads to toxicity in certain body systems due to insufficient intake of food or accumulation of harmful substances accumulated in the body.
